Our bodies are totally different in our 40s, 50s and 60s than they were in our 20s. Instead of ignoring the changes, its time to embrace our evolution. All classes are designed around strength based resistance training with deep muscle and fascia release. This not only ensures you attain great shape, but you maintain bone density, increase muscle mass and reduce the physical signs of ageing.
Bootcamps and High Intensity training tend to cause issues as we age. Our joints suffer, our hips and backs get issues and our poor Pelvic Floor cannot handle the impact of jumping and running like she used to.
At Zip Up Your Purse, we ensure each exercise is designed around stability – pelvic stability, hip stability, axial stability. After 40 we tend to heal slower, so we need more controlled, deliberate and isolated exercises that don’t place undue pressure on our joints.
The main focus in each class, is you. We cater to YOUR needs and can progress and regress every movement to suit your own body.
Regular exercise not only improves your physical capabilities, but also boosts metabolism and improves your mental health. Coming together with other women and having fun boosts your self esteem and keeps you mentally sharper. And given we are at a time when sleep tends to be a little sporadic, resistance training really helps alleviate this.
